FAA Flight Reviews & Proficiency Checks
Robinson R44 Flight Review
The FAA Flight Review is required every 12 calendar months until reaching 200 hours of flight time, then every 24 months to keep a pilot certificate valid. This review follows FAA guidelines & SFAR 73 regulations under 14 CFR Part 61 & AC 61-98C.
Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC)
The FAA Instrument Proficiency Check is designed to get pilots current and proficient under instrument flight conditions. Training is available in the Robinson R-44 or Cessna 172, following 14 CFR Part 61 regulations and AC 61-98C.
Time Building for Career Advancement
Aviation Academy of Louisiana offers airplane and helicopter flight time building to help pilots meet the requirements for their next certificate or rating. Pilots can log night, cross-country, and instrument time, with discount block rates available.
CFI & Robinson Transition Training
CFI Renewal Training
For CFIs who have let their certificate expire, this training brings them back to FAA Commercial Standards, covering both ground and flight training to prepare for the FAA Practical Test.
Robinson R44 SFAR 73 Transition Training
Pilots holding an FAA Rotorcraft/Helicopter Certificate but new to Robinson helicopters must complete the 10-hour SFAR 73 transition training in the Robinson R-44, conducted by Certified Flight Instructors.
CFI B-5 Endorsement for Robinson R22/R44
CFIs who want to provide instruction in Robinson aircraft must complete the SFAR 73 2.(b)(5) training for the Robinson R-22 or R-44. Final testing is conducted by an FAA Aviation Safety Inspector or Authorized Designated Examiner.

R22/R44 Precision Auto-Rotation Course
This advanced autorotation course is designed for pilots who have completed their Commercial Rotorcraft Pilot Certificate and are looking to enhance real-world situational awareness in autorotation procedures. Training is conducted in the Robinson R-44 and includes ground and flight instruction.
Robinson R66 Transition Training (Insurance Requirements)
Most insurance providers require a Robinson Factory-Approved R66 transition course for pilots upgrading from an R44 to an R66. Aviation Academy of Louisiana offers this transition training to meet insurance and operational requirements.
Aerial Photography Flights
